Alright.
*deep breath"
After reading an exceptional amount of bad fic, I think that everyone needs a chance to vent their fanfiction cliche hates.
Any fandom. Any cliche. Anything goes.
I'll start -
If I read another Twilight fic where Jasper refers to Carlisle as 'Dad', I just might track down the author by IP address and put an alligator in their bed.
This entry is public, because everyone needs a chance to vent.

I saw the Best Picture nominees yesterday. All five of them.
Our local AMC had a marathon - $30 to see all 5 movies in a row, and free popcorn all day. The Boyfriend, myself and two friends (A and K) headed off, with our comfy shoes and sweatpants on and pockets full of smuggled in candy. We got there at 10, first film started at 10:30, and we didn't get out of there until 11:45pm, except for our escapes to Starbucks between films during the 20-30 minute breaks. It was a long, great day.
In short - I liked all 5 movies, though of course I had my favourites :)
( In Long - )
Votes?
A votes for Slumdog
K votes for Milk
The Boyfriend votes for Slumdog
I vote for Slumdog
My Totals:
5 Movies
1 Grande Chai Latte
1 Grande London Fog Latte
2 Tall Awake Teas
1 Cheeseburger
Half a bag of licorice
1 Mars Bar
Uncountable amount of popcorn.
50 pounds probably gained

My mom and I got into a discussion last night while watching Miracle on 34th Street about writing to Santa Claus when I raised a very important question.
He obviously has several different email addresses to contact him by, but what about snail mail? What address do non Canadian children sent their letters to Santa to?
We, of course, send our letters to:
Santa Claus
The North Pole, Canada
H0H 0H0
And I know from experience that he received my letters and responded. Where do everyone elses letters go? I doubt Santa makes everyone use international postage to Canada. That's not in the spirit of Christmas at all.
Happy Christmas Eve!!!

Happy of Tuesday
- The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray. This is the first movie we've got on bluray and for the life of me I can't figure out why we haven't bought any before. It was fantastic. I had seen it in theatres, but now I have a nice shiny copy of my own, and can watch the awesome that is Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckheart and Gary Oldman in extreme high def from the comfort of my couch. Now I just need to convince The Boyfriend that we don't need to rebuy all our DVDs on Blu-ray...
- Watching Merlin on Youtube at work. Damn CBC and BBC Canada for cockblocking my ability to watch it in legal formats.
- Fan girling with

Wednesday night I got a call from my dad - which was a shock in itself as I can count the amount of times my dad has ever called me on my fingers - informing me that he was going to be in town Thursday night and he was taking me out. Dinner and then the Neil Young concert.
Met him after work, dinner was lovely, then headed over to the ACC for the show. Seats were alright - stage left about half way up. Opening bands were great, Everest and Wilco - although my dad was a little put off by Wilco's random electric guitar rifts in the middle of acoustic songs :)
During the break between Wilco and Neil, we snuck up to The Boyfriend's company box to take advantage of the free beer. Our plan originally was to go back down to our real seats before Neil came on, but in the end we stayed in the box. It was farther from the stage, but much more spacious with bigger seats (as well as the free bar). My dad is waiting for a knee replacement so the ability to move around and not sit all cramped up was much appreciated.
The show was. awesome.
ladybracknell, you almost got a phone call during Cinnamon Girl until I realised that although the gesture would probably be well liked, the fact that it would have been 3am your time probably wouldn't. Neil rocked for 2 and a half solid hours with no stops, and surprised everyone with his encore of a cover of The Beatles' A Day in the Life Of. Spectactular show.
My dad was thrilled and on cloud nine. We don't see each other much, so it was great to spend time with him and not bicker about innane things (which we normally do). I wouldn't have been able to see the great show without him as The Boyfriend didn't have a ticket for me this time around. Something about having to take clients and not me. Pfft. I showed him :)

Happy Birthday Robyn! In honour of your birthday I present a tribute to your fan art, which everyone should enjoy because you are insanely talented. I hope you are having a great time in Dallas and that you have an amazing day!
Apologies to The Beatles for use of their music. Poor sock puppetry is done by me. I really shouldn't have been introduced to iMovie :)
Back to packing :)

rillaotvalley wrote me an Emmett ficlet. Emmett/Rosalie ficlet to be exact. Emmett/Rosalie voyeur ficlet to be even more precise ;)
It's called In A Bind. It needs some lovin', much like Emmett.

I anticipate a day of boringness. Crappy weather so I don't plan on going anywhere, so I'm memeing

Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you: (I'll accept Harry Potter, Twilight, Buffy, Angel, and How I Met Your Mother)
(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes
(d) five things that never happened to that character and/or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and why
( Charlie Swan )
( Edward Cullen )( Sirius Black )
Eight Things Meme that Everyone has done
1. I don't own any make up. Even if I did, I have no clue how to put it on
2. I hate eggs. Scrambled, hardboiled, sunnyside up - whatever. It's all bad. I like Easter eggs.
3. I can crack most of my knuckles just by bending them
4. I'm always crazy cold. It's not unusual for me to be wearing layers and mittens in July.
5. There are over 600 DVDs, not including TV series, on my shelf. I've run out of space and don't quite know what to do about it yet.
6. I never could understand the point of Coles Notes for books in school. Why read a book about another book instead of just reading the book itself?
7. I own an obscene amount of red clothes.
8. The LJ cut feature seems to not work anymore in my journal. I apologize if I keep breaking your flists as I have to do it in HTML, which is definately not my strong suit What else is new???
Thankgiving was good - my fridge is full of turkey and I should know tomorrow whether or not I can get the November 21st off from work to go to DC :)
